Hi

With your permission I want to launch this website – there is no charge until June so it can get established, please read on and decide if you want a listing.

As a small local business I know how difficult it is to get cost effective advertising, but before you disregard this, I have built this website dedicated to Keelby and the businesses based in Keelby and other useful sites that you can look at now. If you hover on the News link in the menu bar, and from the sub menu click on Keelby news, there is more detail on using the site.

I have taken the liberty of developing this site, to be fully functioning before its launch where every business I am aware of, including yours has its own web page within the portal. This way you can view the whole site including your own web portal page without risk or commitment.

It is the same as having your own website but within the Local-business-Keelby website.

On there you have your own pictures that I have found through your website or Facebook complete with an introductory write up for your business. I may have used stock photos if you didn’t have enough.

It has your contact details, up to five photos, a write up, embedded youtube video if required,  if you have one, and Facebook feed, if you have one.

You can view your page by going by clicking your button on the Home page link in the menu above or tapping the three lines on your mobile to open the menu bar.

Because the site is not “Live” until every business has been contacted and approved an alterations, it is password protected in order to keep it private until launch at the end of the month.

There is a demand for local business and people do want to buy local if possible. On this website ONLY businesses based in Keelby are allowed to advertise.

I have also included around 50 direct links to other useful sites ranging from shopping sites like Amazon to the parish council and Ask my GP,  Bin collection and bus times are listed and News and weather is also on the main page. 30 popular podcasts are available which is all done to get repeat visitors, people will come back as it is a portal built to encourage return views.
Keelby News has local information, crossword and chess puzzles as well as Solitaire are all included to encourage return visitors.

Costs

Advertising is fickle, it is about getting value for money as well as name placement but more than anything it is difficult for a small business to advertise effectively

Even having your own website is very difficult to get people to be aware of it. By having a site dedicated to Keelby residents with a Keelby business listing, with fresh content provided from News headlines and weather as well as fresh podcasts, return visitors should be good. 

If you haven’t got your own website, you can direct people to this portal for more information about your business, or directly to your web address link.

Once you look at the site and please investigate it fully including your own page, you will see a significant amount of work has gone in to producing this to make it a success. In regard to ROI, generally one new repeating customer for small work, such as a hairdresser or gardener would more than pay for the costs, for bigger jobs like driveways or extensions, just one customer would pay for many years.

By promoting the fact ONLY businesses based in Keelby are listed on the site and giving relevant and fresh content relating to Keelby, residents should continue to return to the site, and now know where to look for a local tradesman without wading through the pain of Facebook.

The crunch:

To advertise it is just £99.00 for a full year. which to me is the best value for money i can make it.

Compared to a small advert in a parish magazine at about £60.00 a year to Facebook having unknown costs (you set a budget and they spend it!) and if you have your own website through Facebook or independently, getting views can be costly. Website design and hosting is costly, if you Google “website maintenance average costs”, it seems to be £100.00 – £500.00 a month, which is somewhat excessive, but i doubt you could get it done for less that £30.00 a month.

I sincerely hope you will proceed with this to promote your business, as I have said I have put it all in place ready to go, but if you want to change the introduction text or the photos, that can be done once at no charge, but you would need to email it to me as a finished introduction, I will not do spelling or grammar checks. Any photos would need to be in jpeg format no bigger that 250 KB

So, click on the Home link in the menu at the top, your button is about half way down in the listing and see how it looks, and check out the others as there are no restrictions,

If you like it great, if you don’t, I will remove your listing from the site.

Either way please let me know as soon as possible. There is no cost if you decide not to progress further.
